Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with 2nd and 3rd graders in a supportive elementary school environment near Candler, NC. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work closely with a small group of approximately ten students who benefit from adapted curriculum and intensive intervention. Enjoy a structured 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, and the daily support of two teaching assistants.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Current teaching license with certification in Special Education
  • Experience teaching at the elementary level, specifically 2nd or 3rd grade
  • Skilled in implementing adapted curriculum and providing intensive interventions
  • Ability to manage and differentiate lessons for small groups of students
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with classroom support staff
  • Passion for supporting students with unique learning needs and fostering an encouraging atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, adapt, and deliver instructional plans for 2nd and 3rd graders
  • Provide intensive intervention strategies tailored to each student’s needs
  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Collaborate daily with two teaching assistants to provide individualized support
  • Assess student progress, maintain documentation, and adjust approaches as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with school staff and families regarding student growth and objectives
