Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting 2nd and 3rd grade students in an elementary school setting. This contract role focuses on adapted curriculum and intensive intervention for a class of approximately 10 students, with the support of two experienced teaching assistants. You’ll collaborate with faculty and staff to develop individualized educational strategies, ensuring each child receives the tailored attention they deserve.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current teaching license and certification in elementary education
  • Endorsement or experience in special education, particularly with adapted curriculum or intensive intervention
  • Proven ability to work with 2nd and 3rd grade students, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized lesson plans for students needing adapted curriculum, using evidence-based instructional methods
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants to create an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Assess student progress, documenting growth and identifying areas for additional intervention
  • Work closely with families, related service providers, and other educators to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s education
  • Foster a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment guided by empathy, patience, and dedication

This full-time position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00am - 3:30pm, providing you with a predictable routine. The class size allows you to build strong connections with each student while having ample support from teaching assistants.
