Desired Qualifications:
- Valid, current Michigan teaching license with Special Education endorsement (please submit a copy of your certification with your application)
- Proven experience working with middle school students in a resource room or self-contained classroom
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset to partner with staff and families
- Ability to adapt lessons and manage classroom behaviors effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs within a resource room environment
- Develop, update, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a safe, positive, and structured learning atmosphere for students requiring specialized support
- Maintain accurate records, track student progress, and provide ongoing updates to families and staff
