Resource/Inclusion Teacher Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in resource and inclusive classroom settings.
Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Foster positive relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support student success.
Special Education Case Manager Responsibilities
(Case Management Only – No Direct Classroom Teaching Responsibilities)
Manage a caseload of students receiving special education services.
Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings.
Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies.
Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation.
Collaborate with teachers, service providers, administrators, and families.
Monitor student services and ensure implementation of IEPs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid New Mexico Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for licensure.
Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance.
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Previous experience in special education is preferred but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.
