Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for K-6th grade

  • Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school staff
  • Positive, compassionate, and adaptable teaching style to foster student engagement and progress
  • Experience with instructional strategies tailored to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly valued

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction to elementary students in a Life Skills program, emphasizing functional academics, social skills, and daily living skills
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals to ensure measurable student growth
  • Adapt curriculum and learning materials to meet a wide range of learning styles and abilities
  • Provide a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages independence and inclusion
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and classroom teachers to support student success
  • Regularly communicate progress and strategies to families and guardians
