You’ll provide essential support to exceptional learners, foster inclusive classroom environments, and collaborate closely with educators, families, and related service providers to help each student realize their potential.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current teaching license with Special Education certification or eligibility in North Carolina
  • Experience working as an Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher or in a similar capacity supporting diverse learners
  • Deep knowledge of IEP development, case management, and progress monitoring for K-8 populations
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities to support both students and staff
  • Dedication to fostering a positive, supportive, and adaptive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs as outlined in each IEP
  • Monitor progress, adapt strategies as needed, and maintain thorough documentation
  • Coordinate with general education teachers and related service staff to implement best practices
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, communicate regularly with parents/guardians, and advocate for student needs
  • Employ a variety of instructional and behavioral strategies to engage students at all levels
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
