Licensed Middle School Special Education Teacher in Cary, NC

Step into a dynamic special education role supporting middle school students as an experienced EC Teacher for the 25/26 school year. This contract opportunity is perfect for educators with a strong background in both resource ELA and Math, who are ready to make an immediate impact by working closely with a dedicated group of ECS (Exceptional Children Services) students.

In this role, you’ll teach students within small-group settings, focusing on both academic and occupational skills development. You will also benefit from the collaboration of a full-time ECTA who is already familiar with these students and will provide additional classroom support throughout your assignment.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a current state license in Special Education for middle grades
• Demonstrated experience as an EC Teacher, particularly in middle school settings
• Proven ability to teach resource ELA and Math to students with diverse learning needs
• Adept at developing comprehensive, effective IEPs tailored to individual student goals
• Comfortable working with academic and occupational skills curriculum
• Capacity to quickly adapt, engage, and establish rapport with students and colleagues
• Ready to begin April 1st and commit through June 5th

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction in ELA and Math resource classes for 2-3 ECS students
• Collaborate with the experienced ECTA and other staff members to meet student needs
• Write and update IEPs ensuring compliance and measurable progress
• Track and monitor student achievement and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
