Licensed Middle School Special Education Teacher in Cary, NC

Step into an impactful role supporting middle school students as an experienced Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 25/26 school year. This contract position involves collaborating with a dedicated support team to provide high-quality resource ELA and Math instruction to a small group of exceptional children (ECS) in an academic and occupational skills classroom.

Working alongside a full-time ECTA—who has already built a strong rapport with the students—you’ll be instrumental in fostering a supportive learning environment that prioritizes both academic achievement and practical skill growth. What we’re seeking:

• Valid teaching license with EC (Exceptional Children) endorsement
• Extensive experience working with middle school grades
• Track record of crafting effective, compliant IEPs
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging instruction in ELA and Math resource settings
• Comfort managing a classroom with 2-3 ECS students, focusing on both academic and occupational skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Readiness to step in, adapt quickly, and make an immediate positive impact

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop lesson plans tailored to student needs and IEP goals
• Collaborate with the ECTA and general education teachers for integrated support
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
