You’ll be responsible for a caseload of 12 students, sharing four with surrounding high schools. At most, eight students will be present in your classroom at any given time, ensuring focused, personalized instruction.
Your students benefit from a positive, structured setting, and you will have dedicated para support to assist with daily routines and individualized interventions. The school is committed to fostering student growth in a supportive, non-violent environment—no physically aggressive students are included in this program.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification with emotional impairment endorsement required
- Previous experience working with students with emotional impairments is highly valued
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Ability to modify curriculum, implement behavioral supports, and foster social/emotional development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with paraeducators and partner with general education staff
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student-centered practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Develop positive relationships with students to support emotional well-being and academic progress
- Implement evidence-based strategies for classroom management and social-emotional learning
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
