Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education, or eligibility for certification
- Experience working with students who have a range of learning, emotional, or physical disabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and fellow educators
- Deep understanding of developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Resourceful, patient, and compassionate approach to classroom instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ unique learning needs
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with district and state guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Track student progress and provide regular updates to families and educational partners
- Create a classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, independence, and engagement
- Participate in team meetings, staff development, and relevant training sessions
