What we’re looking for:
- Valid state Special Education Teaching Certification with mild to moderate or severe endorsement
- Previous experience in an elementary setting or with developmental classrooms strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and inclusive education practices
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Flexibility, patience, and creativity in adapting instruction to meet varied student needs
- Genuine passion for supporting learners with diverse backgrounds and abilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct instruction and individualized support to students in a developmental elementary classroom
- Developing and implementing lesson plans tailored to IEP goals and student strengths
- Maintaining accurate records, progress monitoring, and preparing required documentation
- Collaborating closely with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Engaging with families and caregivers to ensure continuity and success across environments
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere where students feel valued
