Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with developmental delays in a subseparate classroom setting. This contract opportunity is available immediately and will continue through June 15, 2027, with up to 37.5 hours per week. You'll work with a manageable caseload of 9 students, alongside a dedicated team of 4 paraprofessionals in a supportive educational environment near Central Falls, RI.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education (SPED) certification in Moderate or Severe Disabilities (required)
  • Demonstrated experience or a strong passion for teaching students with developmental delays
  • Effective classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with support staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a subseparate classroom for students with developmental delays
  • Develop, monitor, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet varied learning needs
  • Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that encourages student growth
  • Supervise and collaborate closely with four classroom paraprofessionals
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation and fulfill state and program requirements
