Support students and schools across Southern Oregon by serving as an Autism Specialist—a pivotal, full-time opportunity for those committed to enhancing the educational experience of students on the autism spectrum. This contract position covers a dynamic region extending from the Ashland area to Eagle Point and Grants Pass, all within a 35-mile radius of Medford, OR. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply for this onsite-only role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s-level special education teachers, speech-language pathologists (SLPs—with either TSPC license or Board Certification), school psychologists with a TSPC license, or Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with focused autism training/experience are welcome.
- Minimum of 3 years’ direct work experience supporting students with Autism, spanning various age groups and grade levels.
- Expertise in working with students across the full spectrum, including both high-functioning individuals in general education and those who are severely impacted or non-speaking in self-contained environments.
- Demonstrated experience conducting autism evaluations and assessments.
- Current Oregon licensure and relevant certification.
Key Duties:
- Provide autism-specific consultation and expert support to K-12 staff, students, and families.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to guide individualized education plans and interventions.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure quality, inclusion, and progress for each student.
- Develop and deliver professional development and training for school staff on best practices in autism support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team processes.
