You'll work with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, supporting both inclusion classrooms and self-contained programs focused on behavior and life skills. Your schedule will follow a Monday through Friday routine, 7:25 am to 4:00 pm, providing you with a consistent workday and time to build strong relationships with your students. You'll play a vital role by creating a supportive learning environment and adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience with or knowledge of inclusion and self-contained classroom settings
- Ability to effectively manage classrooms and implement behavior and life skills interventions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Passion for facilitating the academic and personal development of diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate varying abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Communicate progress and strategies with families and educational teams
