Special Education Teacher in Centreville, MD

This full-time contract opportunity starts August 24, 2026, and runs through June 14, 2027, serving a resource/co-teaching classroom of fourth-grade students. The position offers a fulfilling experience working closely with a diverse caseload of 15 learners in an engaging educational setting.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Maryland Special Education teaching certification (required)
• Experience teaching at the elementary level, particularly with a resource or co-teaching model
• Solid understanding of IEP implementation and documentation
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to student progress

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver specially designed instruction to fourth-grade students within a resource/co-teaching framework
• Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess student abilities and continuously monitor for progress
• Foster an inclusive and encouraging environment for students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with team members and families to support student growth
• Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development as required

This assignment is Monday through Friday, following the school’s full-time schedule for the academic year, giving you a consistent weekday routine. The classroom environment encourages creativity, skill-building, and meaningful engagement with your students.
