Special Education Teacher | Centreville, Maryland

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in early childhood education. With a start date as soon as possible and a commitment through June 14, 2027, this position offers a chance to make a meaningful, lasting impact on young learners’ lives in an inclusive, supportive environment. Working full-time, Monday through Friday, you’ll support a dynamic group of around 10-15 students at any given time, each presenting unique strengths and challenges.

Your primary services will focus on supporting students within the general education classroom, collaborating closely with grade-level teachers to deliver individualized instruction and accommodations. The caseload primarily includes students diagnosed with Other Health Impairments (OHI), Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Language Impairment. Flexibility, creativity, and strong communication skills will serve you well in fostering an atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience with early childhood populations
• Knowledge of instructional strategies to support OHI, learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments
• Strong collaboration skills with general education staff and related service providers
• Ability to adapt and modify curriculum to meet diverse student needs
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Positive, proactive approach to building relationships with families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative special education services within the general education setting
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s growth
• Collect data, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as needed
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture
• Communicate regularly with families and staff to ensure student success
