About the Opportunity
Soliant Education is hiring four onsite Autistic Support Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania area. These education industry positions are available at the elementary and middle school levels, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while supporting students with autism in structured learning environments. Each classroom includes dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) support to help students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.
This is a full-time contract assignment with a consistent daily schedule of 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Educators will work alongside school staff, families, and related service providers to create engaging learning experiences that promote student growth and independence.
Position Details
There are four onsite openings for the 2026-2027 academic year serving students in Autistic Support classrooms. Elementary and middle school placements are available based on district needs and candidate experience. These classrooms are supported by PCAs, allowing teachers to focus on instructional planning, individualized programming, and student achievement.
Compensation ranges from $37.50 to $50.50 per hour, depending on experience, certification, education level, and other qualifying factors.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Develop lesson plans that address academic, communication, behavioral, and functional learning goals.
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, support staff, and families to promote student progress.
- Monitor student performance, collect data, and maintain accurate educational documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting.
- Implement behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques appropriate for students with autism.
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or Instructional II Special Education K-12 teaching certificate.
- Ability to work onsite throughout the entire 2026-2027 school year.
- Experience working with students with autism or within Autistic Support programs is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
