Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Illinois
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Previous experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based instructional strategies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans reflecting students’ abilities and goals
  • Assess student progress, data-collect, and adjust instruction to maximize achievement
  • Maintain accurate IEP documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development
  • Create a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
