Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Arizona secondary teaching license
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Classroom experience with students who have emotional disabilities as well as other areas of eligibility, including autism and behavior challenges
- Awareness of at-risk and exceptional student needs, including limited English proficiency and ethnically diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with, or willingness to attend, Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training and other district-led professional development
- Demonstrated skill in designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs and related documentation to meet federal, state, and district standards
- Ability to foster prosocial and self-regulatory skills in students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in inclusion, SUCCESS, life skills/transition (CBT), practical, and STRIVE self-contained classrooms
- Develop and implement lesson plans and strategies addressing functional academics, social-emotional regulation, and behavioral support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student growth, transition plans, and post-secondary readiness
- Maintain accurate records, adhere to compliance guidelines, and actively participate in staff meetings and required trainings
