Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility in Arizona
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a behavior self-contained or similar setting
- Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and staff
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices and strategies for students with special needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to K-5 students, focusing on both academic progress and behavioral support within the STARS Program
- Create a safe, structured classroom environment that encourages social and emotional growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor IEP goals and behavior intervention plans
- Foster cooperative relationships with parents and guardians, maintaining open lines of communication
- Effectively document and report student progress, participating in all required meetings and professional development opportunities
