Special Education Teacher - Chandler, Arizona

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility in Arizona
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a behavior self-contained or similar setting
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) effectively
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and staff
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and strategies for students with special needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to K-5 students, focusing on both academic progress and behavioral support within the STARS Program
• Create a safe, structured classroom environment that encourages social and emotional growth
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor IEP goals and behavior intervention plans
• Foster cooperative relationships with parents and guardians, maintaining open lines of communication
• Effectively document and report student progress, participating in all required meetings and professional development opportunities
