Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher

Soliant is seeking a dedicated Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school team in Charleston, Mississippi for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized instruction and support to a small classroom of elementary students.

Assignment Details

• Position: Full-time, 2026–2027 school year
• Setting: Elementary self-contained classroom
• Caseload ~ 8 students, 1st through 4th grade

Required Qualifications

• Active Mississippi Special Education teaching license (or ability to obtain before start date)
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a self-contained elementary special education classroom
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction based on students' IEP goals
• Create a structured, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
• Foster students' academic, social, and functional growth
