Soliant is seeking a dedicated Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school team in Charleston, Mississippi for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized instruction and support to a small classroom of elementary students.
Assignment Details
- Position: Full-time, 2026–2027 school year
- Setting: Elementary self-contained classroom
- Caseload ~ 8 students, 1st through 4th grade
Required Qualifications
- Active Mississippi Special Education teaching license (or ability to obtain before start date)
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a self-contained elementary special education classroom
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction based on students' IEP goals
- Create a structured, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Foster students' academic, social, and functional growth
