Key Qualifications:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
• Experience teaching high school students in a special education setting preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Ability to adapt curriculum to individualized needs

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with student IEPs
• Assess student skills and goals, regularly monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed
• Foster a nurturing, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote academic success and inclusion
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation of student records, assessments, and IEP compliance
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and support strategies
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
