Key Qualifications:

  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience working with early elementary (K-2) students preferred
  • Strong ability to adapt instructional strategies to individual student needs
  • Solid foundation in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, partnering with teaching assistants, general education colleagues, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an accessible and positive learning environment for all abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with exceptional needs according to IEP goals
  • Support students through differentiated lessons and behavioral strategies in a resource model setting
  • Collaborate with EC Teacher’s Assistant and other staff to promote inclusive practices
  • Track and document student progress, maintaining communication with families and educational team members
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development as needed
  • Cultivate a supportive and motivating classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and participation
