Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification and credentials
  • Experience in elementary (K-2) special education classrooms preferred
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and employing diverse instructional strategies
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with teaching assistants and general education staff
  • Familiarity with building and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and organization abilities
  • Commitment to fostering inclusivity and supporting students’ unique educational needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction to K-2 students with diverse learning challenges in a resource/general education setting
  • Partner with the EC Teacher’s Assistant to provide classroom support and individualized interventions
  • Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and document contact, participation, and outcomes for each student
  • Engage in regular collaborative planning with general education teachers to maximize inclusion
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth within a caring environment
