This full-time contract position is dedicated to fostering academic growth for a group of 16 students with mild to moderate needs, focusing on empowering them in both Math and Reading. Each day, you’ll collaborate with teachers and staff to deliver targeted inclusion support and provide resource instruction that inspires both confidence and independence.

Your day begins at 7:15 AM and winds down at 3:15 PM, guaranteeing consistent workweek hours and a structured routine. In this inclusive classroom setting, your expertise in adapting lesson plans, creating differentiated instruction, and building a welcoming, positive learning atmosphere will be paramount to student growth and achievement.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility in North Carolina)
  • Experience or strong interest in 8th-grade instruction, particularly with Math and Reading
  • Background in inclusion and resource program models
  • Skilled at managing caseloads and developing individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and students
  • Positive, proactive attitude and a passion for inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored Math and Reading support within both inclusion and resource settings
  • Case-manage 16 students, ensuring effective implementation of IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and classroom assessments as needed
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress reports
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding academic and social growth
