Qualifications/Preferred Experience:

  • Valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain for NC.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach exceptional children, preferably in grades K-2.
  • Experience working in a Resource setting within the general education classroom.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with an EC Teacher's Assistant.
  • Flexibility and passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to a caseload of 16-20 K-2 students in a Resource setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and an EC Assistant to modify curriculum as needed.
  • Write and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports each child's academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Engage with families and specialist staff to ensure seamless support for students.
