Special Education Teacher in Chatham, LA

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification appropriate for K-12 settings
• Experience or strong interest in working with students with ASD preferred
• Knowledge of self-contained classroom instruction and behavior management strategies

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with general education staff, therapists, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to K-12 students in a self-contained setting

• Collaborate closely with support staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student progress
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to manage classroom behavior and promote engagement
• Assess student abilities and adjust instruction to maximize learning potential
• Track progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state and district guidelines
