Qualifications & Experience:
- Active certification or licensure for special education caseload is required
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree to qualify for an emergency teaching permit
- Previous experience working in schools, ideally within urban settings
- Demonstrates mastery of special education subject matter and instructional strategies
- Must be able to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Reliable transportation and punctuality between 8:30AM–4PM
- Comfortable working onsite with younger elementary grades (K-2)
- Strong classroom and behavior management capabilities
- Flexible and responsive to district needs, policies, and schedules
Responsibilities:
- Create engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans for K-2 special education students
- Deliver instruction utilizing differentiation and formative assessment
- Foster a positive learning environment and inspire student growth
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, staff, and families
- Meet deadlines and adhere to required documentation and expectations
