We are seeking three contract Special Education Teachers passionate about making a meaningful impact in students' lives for the 2026–2027 school year. These onsite roles require innovative, compassionate educators ready to collaborate with colleagues and prepare students for real-world success.
Two positions focus on a new pilot program at the high school, supporting students with executive functioning needs, Autism, and behavioral challenges. These teachers will work closely with the tech center, guiding students toward both employment skills and personal growth. Flexibility, collaborative skills, and a willingness to try novel approaches are essential.
A third role is available at the elementary level, joining a supportive team of four teachers. This caseload serves children with learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism, with strong PT/OT support to promote holistic development.
Qualifications:
- Current professional Vermont Teaching License with one of the following endorsements: Special Educator, Special Education Consulting Teacher, or Intensive Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience teaching special education is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop individualized instructional plans and adapt to diverse learning styles
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture
- Must have current fingerprinting; previously approved school fingerprints will be accepted
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized educational programs
- Develop and deliver targeted instructional strategies in both academic and life skills
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including PT/OT staff
- Support positive behavior management tailored to student needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and communication with families and stakeholders
This contract offers a set schedule of 35 hours per week, from August 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027.
