Special Education Teacher in Chesterfield, MO

Two exciting contract opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in a supportive district near Chesterfield, MO. Dedicated and compassionate educators are needed to support students in a specialized setting, working within a collaborative and dynamic team.

Both positions are full-time, running from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch, from August 17, 2026, to May 28, 2027 (actual end date may depend on snow days). Each role serves a caseload of up to 12-24 students, split between morning and afternoon half-day sessions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized instruction to students with special needs
• Developing and implementing weekly lesson plans that align with IEP goals
• Preparing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Reporting on student and goal progress three times throughout the year
• Following the prescribed curriculum to meet each child’s unique needs
• Collaborating with IEP teams, scheduling, and leading meetings
• Participating in Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings and district/program professional development
• Maintaining accurate records and performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience creating and implementing IEPs
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and current best practices in special education
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and support staff
