Embark on a meaningful contract role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher just outside Chicago Heights, IL. This opportunity runs through May 28, 2027, and offers you the chance to make a real difference while collaborating with dedicated professionals in the field.

Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, teaching Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), totaling 35 hours per week. Two positions are available for educators with the necessary expertise and passion for special education.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois State Educator License with LBS1 Endorsement (required)
  • Ability to develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Experience coordinating with related services staff (OT, PT, Speech/Language, etc.)
  • At least two years of recent teaching experience in a special education setting preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to diverse learner needs
  • Write, review, and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment supporting student growth
