Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience in cross-categorical special education settings strongly preferred
• Background in teaching social studies and science content to students with special needs
• Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate varying abilities
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work within a diverse school community

Responsibilities:

• Deliver social studies and science instruction to special education students using differentiated strategies
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress, adapting instruction as necessary
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Foster a supportive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
• Maintain all required documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
• Participate in team meetings and professional development
