A full-time contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide resource support for 4th and 5th graders in a school near Chicago, IL. This role is dedicated to supporting students within a resource classroom setting, offering push-in and pull-out services for English Language Arts and Math. The assignment runs from August 14 through the end of September, covering an FMLA leave, with a possible extension.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and LBS1 endorsement (Required)
- Previous experience working with upper elementary students, preferably in special education settings
- Proficiency in delivering both push-in and pull-out instruction
- Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Ability to manage and differentiate instruction for a caseload of 8-10 students
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to students in 4th and 5th grade
- Implement IEP goals and track student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and modify curriculum
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families regarding student progress
- Ensure compliance with IEP documentation and timelines
- Adhere to daily schedule, working onsite from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
