Key Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Science Education, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience teaching special education, preferably within science subjects
- Passion for adapting curriculum and teaching methods to a variety of learning styles
- Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of IEP development and commitment to compliance with state and federal guidelines
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging science instruction tailored for students with special needs
- Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Coordinate with other educators, therapists, and families to support student progress
- Use evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to address academic, social, and behavioral needs
- Track student progress, maintaining organized records and consistent communication
- Foster an inclusive, safe classroom environment that supports emotional and academic growth
