Key Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Science Education, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience teaching special education, preferably within science subjects
  • Passion for adapting curriculum and teaching methods to a variety of learning styles
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of IEP development and commitment to compliance with state and federal guidelines

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging science instruction tailored for students with special needs
  • Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Coordinate with other educators, therapists, and families to support student progress
  • Use evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to address academic, social, and behavioral needs
  • Track student progress, maintaining organized records and consistent communication
  • Foster an inclusive, safe classroom environment that supports emotional and academic growth
