Special Education Teacher - Chicago, IL

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching license in the state of Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
• Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs
• Knowledge of IEP processes and ability to adapt instruction to meet individualized goals
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
• Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum materials to foster student engagement and success
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes growth and a sense of belonging
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive support for students
• Maintain detailed records and documentation as required
