What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Active Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois)
  • Experience working with students with varying learning profiles, including academic, behavioral, and communication challenges
  • Knowledge of curriculum differentiation, IEP processes, and data-driven instruction
  • Familiarity with structured teaching, visual supports, sensory strategies, and social-emotional interventions
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with aides, related service providers, and families
  • Adaptability, creativity, and a true passion for advocating for students’ individualized needs

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging, targeted instruction to a 4th grade cross-categorical classroom
  • Implementing and monitoring progress toward IEP goals alongside grade-level curriculum
  • Using structured teaching methods, behavioral interventions, and visual, sensory, and communication supports as needed
  • Coordinating closely with program aides, 1:1 support staff, and related service providers throughout the instructional day
  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that fosters student growth and independence
  • Keeping accurate records and actively participating in IEP meetings and team planning
