In this role, you will work with 5th-grade students in a cross-categorical instructional program, providing both academic and social-emotional support tailored to individual needs. Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience designing instruction for students with a variety of academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Skills in structured teaching, behavioral interventions, and visual/communication supports
  • Strong collaboration with aides, 1:1 support staff, and related service providers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver grade-level-aligned lessons and individualized instruction that address IEP goals
  • Implement specialized instructional supports—visual schedules, behavioral and social interventions, communication tools, and sensory strategies
  • Foster an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Monitor and document academic, behavioral, and functional progress
  • Maintain regular communication with families and team members
