Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest working with primary-aged students
- Thorough understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
- Flexibility, creativity, and empathy when adapting instruction to meet diverse learner needs
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Monitor students’ progress, adjusting strategies as needed to support growth
- Create a classroom atmosphere that promotes learning, safety, and respect
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to develop and review IEPs
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with special education requirements
- Advocate for and support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
