We’re seeking a dedicated special education professional to work full-time with a small, focused caseload of five students in grades 3rd and 4th. This contract position runs from August 26, 2026, to June 3, 2027, offering consistent 37.5-hour workweeks in a collaborative and supportive school environment. The daily schedule is 8:40AM–3:25PM, allowing for a structured yet engaging routine.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois state licensure and Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous school-based experience, with a strong understanding of elementary special education needs
- Ability to effectively manage a small group setting and tailor instruction to diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff and guardians
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging classroom climate
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction for a classroom of 3rd and 4th grade students with special education needs
- Develop, adapt, and implement lesson plans based on each student’s IEP and educational goals
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including paraprofessionals and therapists, to ensure holistic support
- Maintain accurate records and actively participate in team meetings and parent conferences
- Support social-emotional development and behavioral interventions as needed
