Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification in Special Education
• Experience working in self-contained classroom settings preferred
• Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
• Commitment to supporting students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and manage a self-contained special education classroom for 35 hours per week
• Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
• Provide accommodations, modifications, and interventions tailored to each student’s needs
• Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development sessions
