Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies and materials to meet students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong classroom management skills in a self-contained setting
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Compassion, creativity, and a desire to empower all learners

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to meet each student’s IEP goals
  • Foster a supportive and motivating classroom environment that encourages participation and growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive student support
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
  • Implement behavior strategies and modify curriculum for student success
  • Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of classroom activities and resources
