Your day-to-day will offer variety and fulfillment, from supporting students one-on-one to assisting in classroom settings. By collaborating with other educators and service providers, you’ll develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each learner’s needs. Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience teaching students with exceptional needs in grades K-12
• Understanding of IEP process and implementation
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Collaborative spirit for engaging with teachers, families, and support staff

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and execute IEPs, tracking student progress and documentation
• Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum for diverse learning needs
• Establish a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Work effectively in both individual and classroom support positions (1:1 roles, classroom assistant)
• Engage in regular collaboration with colleagues and families
