Step into a collaborative educational environment where you’ll work closely with a general education teacher using a co-teaching (push-in) model for 7th grade students. This position offers the chance to positively impact a small caseload of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), focusing on personal and academic growth in both English Language Arts and Math.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (LBS1 or equivalent).
- Previous experience in special education, preferably at the middle school level.
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation, particularly for reading and math goals.
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with general education staff.
- Dedication to fostering inclusion and supporting mainstreamed students in a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach in ELA, Math, and Homeroom alongside the general education teacher for a total of 10 students.
- Adapt lessons and materials to facilitate success for students with IEPs.
- Work within a daily bell schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, with teachers arriving 10 minutes before students and departing 15 minutes after students leave.
- Provide direct instruction and support within the push-in model, facilitating mainstreaming in academics and social settings.
- Maintain timely and accurate records related to student performance, IEP progress, and collaboration notes.
- Plan alongside colleagues to ensure student growth and meet individual needs.
This role runs ASAP through the end of the school year and is structured for approximately 32.75 hours per week, including daily prep/plan time and a 30-minute lunch.
