Special Education Teacher | Chicago, Illinois

A fulfilling contract position is available for a dedicated Special Education professional to support young learners from kindergarten through second grade in a single school site near Chicago, IL. This opportunity focuses primarily on serving children with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD, providing a chance to make a real difference in the formative years of students' educational journeys.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid LBS1 certification is required
• Previous experience with primary-aged students (K-2) is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise working with students diagnosed with developmental disabilities, autism, or ADHD
• Ability to effectively manage a caseload of 7-8 students
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Must function independently; assistant-level providers are not considered for this role

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to support academic, social, and behavioral development
• Foster a structured, compassionate classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Employ data collection and progress monitoring to inform instructional adjustments
• Attend all required meetings, documentation, and compliance tasks associated with special education services
• Maintain a high standard of professional ethics and confidentiality

Position Details:

• Start Date: Immediate (ASAP)
• End Date: End of the current school year
• Work Week: 37.5-40 hours (lunch schedule dependent)
• Student Population: K-2nd grade, primary focus on DD/Autism/ADHD
• Single-school site assignment for focused student engagement
