Special Education Teacher - Chicago, Illinois

Key Qualifications:

• Valid LSB1 certification required
• Previous experience in special education settings preferred
• Track record of success working with high school students with diverse learning needs
• Effective classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
• Strong communication abilities with students, families, and educational teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to high school students in a therapeutic environment
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and staff to promote student growth and achievement
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
• Collect and maintain accurate student records and progress reports
• Participate in meetings and professional development as needed

Position Details:

• Substitute teaching role, January 2027–March 2027
• Full-time: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am–3:00 pm
• Serve as a compassionate advocate and instructor for a dedicated group of students
