High School Special Education Teacher – 2026–2027 School Year

We are seeking a High School Special Education Teacher for a full-time position for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a great opportunity for a SPED teacher looking to work with high school students in a supportive school setting.

Position Details: 

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM–3:45 PM
• Hours: Full-time
• Start Date: Late August 2026, exact date TBD
• Grade Levels: 9th–12th 
• Caseload: Projected around 30 students; final caseload is still being determined
• Certification: LBS1 required (w/ corresponding HS grades covered)
• Knowledge and experience working with IEPs is required 
• Bilingual candidates and candidates with previous high school experience are preferred, but not required

Qualifications:

• Active or eligible Illinois Special Education/LBS1 licensure
• Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school administration
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
