High School Special Education Teacher – 2026–2027 School Year
We are seeking a High School Special Education Teacher for a full-time position for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a great opportunity for a SPED teacher looking to work with high school students in a supportive school setting.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM–3:45 PM
- Hours: Full-time
- Start Date: Late August 2026, exact date TBD
- Grade Levels: 9th–12th
- Caseload: Projected around 30 students; final caseload is still being determined
- Certification: LBS1 required (w/ corresponding HS grades covered)
- Knowledge and experience working with IEPs is required
- Bilingual candidates and candidates with previous high school experience are preferred, but not required
Qualifications:
- Active or eligible Illinois Special Education/LBS1 licensure
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school administration
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
