A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time, travel assignment in Chicago, IL, working with high school students in grades 9 through 12. This role focuses on delivering inclusive education in a collaborative classroom environment, supporting students with individualized needs within a general education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach four inclusion sections alongside general education teachers, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Manage one remedial/resource section tailored to meet students' specific educational requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, ensuring compliance with state guidelines.
- Maintain a caseload of 15-20 high school students, delivering instruction that addresses diverse learning styles and challenges.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress and success.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an Illinois LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) with K-22 endorsement for Special Education.
- Demonstrated experience in writing effective IEP goals tailored to student needs.
- Proven ability to work within inclusion/co-teaching classroom settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
Location & Schedule:
- Position based in Chicago, IL.
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Assignment duration: Immediate start through the end of the school year.
