Travel Special Ed Teacher | Chicago, Illinois

A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time, travel assignment in Chicago, IL, working with high school students in grades 9 through 12. This role focuses on delivering inclusive education in a collaborative classroom environment, supporting students with individualized needs within a general education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach four inclusion sections alongside general education teachers, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Manage one remedial/resource section tailored to meet students' specific educational requirements.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, ensuring compliance with state guidelines.
• Maintain a caseload of 15-20 high school students, delivering instruction that addresses diverse learning styles and challenges.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress and success.

Qualifications:

• Possession of an Illinois LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) with K-22 endorsement for Special Education.
• Demonstrated experience in writing effective IEP goals tailored to student needs.
• Proven ability to work within inclusion/co-teaching classroom settings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Location & Schedule:

• Position based in Chicago, IL.
• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
• Assignment duration: Immediate start through the end of the school year.
