Key Qualifications:

  • Active GaPSC Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements in both Special and General Education, specifically for Pre-K age ranges.
  • Background or training as a Special Education Teacher or Paraprofessional working with young children.
  • Experience supporting children with various developmental needs, including non-verbal or minimally verbal students.
  • Skilled in implementing individualized strategies for feeding, toilet training, and behavioral redirection.
  • Strong communication abilities and comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach and nurture a diverse group of Pre-K students within the Special Education program, adapting instruction to meet individual learning and behavioral needs.
  • Support children in daily life skills including feeding, toilet training/diapering, and communication.
  • Develop lesson plans that engage students at their unique developmental levels and foster growth.
  • Maintain accurate records on student progress and partner with families to support consistency between home and school.
  • Create an inclusive environment that encourages positive behavior and celebrates each child’s achievements.
