Special Education Teacher in Chickamauga, GA

This contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with likely additional pre- and post-planning days included. In this full-time role, you’ll work in an inclusive classroom setting with a small caseload of 8-9 students, in partnership with dedicated teaching teams.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Educator Certification
• SPED General Curriculum endorsement required
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students within an inclusion setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with colleagues and families
• Employ evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to promote student success
• Work closely with two established teaching teams to support instructional planning and classroom management
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and planning days as needed
• Communicate effectively with families, administrators, and support staff regarding student progress
