Special Education Teacher in Chickamauga, GA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-specific requirements apply)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Demonstrated experience working in self-contained classrooms or with students with diverse learning needs
• Strong classroom management and individualized instructional planning skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum, create IEPs, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals for students in a self-contained setting
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Assess student progress, maintain records, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Work closely with related service providers, support staff, and families to ensure the best educational outcomes
• Provide direct instruction, behavior support, and daily living skills development as part of students’ educational plans
