An elementary special education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year. This role involves working in a K-4 substantially separate classroom that supports students with therapeutic needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique learning and therapeutic requirements
- Deliver instructional content aligned with curriculum standards for K-4 students
- Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and families to promote student growth and success
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student performance and behavior
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings
- Knowledge of therapeutic classroom strategies and interventions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Location: Elementary school in Chicopee, Massachusetts
Schedule and Duration:
- Contract position for the 2025-2026 school year (August 25, 2025 – June 19, 2026)
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
