Special Education Teacher - Childersburg, AL

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary resource classroom, supporting 4th through 6th grade students. The assignment runs from September 28, 2026, through May 28, 2027, providing consistent hours—30 per week, from 8:05am to 2:40pm (with a 35-minute unpaid lunch break).

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching License (required)
• Experience delivering instruction to elementary-aged students in special education settings
• Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
• Ability to tailor instruction to a variety of learning styles and needs
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to a resource caseload of students in grades 4-6, ensuring each student’s unique learning needs are met
• Develop, execute, and monitor progress towards IEP goals in coordination with parents, related service staff, and administration
• Modify curriculum and create differentiated instructional materials to support students’ continued growth and engagement
• Employ positive behavior strategies and classroom routines that promote a supportive, inclusive learning environment
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of student progress and compliance records
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and collaborate with general education staff
