Special Education Teacher | Childersburg, Alabama

This full-time, onsite contract position is conveniently located near Childersburg, AL, with an immediate start. Working in a self-contained classroom, you’ll have the chance to work closely with a small group of students and make a meaningful impact on their educational journey.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Elementary Special Education or Collaborative K-6 in the state of Alabama
• Demonstrated experience with self-contained classrooms or students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred
• Strong classroom management and organization skills
• Excellent communication abilities when working with students, families, and team members
• Ability to adapt and modify curriculum to align with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Willingness to collaborate with other educators and support staff

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction for 10-12 students within a self-contained classroom setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to meet each student’s unique needs
• Foster a supportive and structured learning environment that encourages student growth and independence
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including related service providers and administrators
• Assist with assessments and regularly track student progress
• Communicate consistently with families regarding student achievement and areas for growth

This role maintains a consistent schedule—Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 3:00PM—allowing for a stable work/life balance while focusing on your students’ development.
